Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality (ARVR) Laboratory is one of the laboratories under the auspices of the Applied Undergraduate Study Program (D4) of Smart City Information Systems, Department of Electrical Engineering, Politeknik Negeri Banjarmasin. The ARVR Laboratory has a function as a practicum facility for students, discussions, training, research for lecturers, and as a center for tool development, intelligent environmental visualization, and applications based on Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, Mixed/Extended Reality, Tracking & Natural Interaction, Computer Vision Techniques, Visual Analytics, Game Development, Mobile Application, Interactive/Immersive Media, Human-Computer Interaction, and Artificial Intelligence. Application areas include Education, Health, Tourism, Culture, Agriculture, Creative Industries/Business, and the Environment to Support the Implementation of Smart Cities.
The existence of ARVR Lab. is expected to support research and development, as well as increase scientific publications. At the ARVR Lab. this is also the main driving force, namely the presence of the IMGM Research Group which has excellent human resources.
Become an Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality (ARVR) Laboratory that is able to support the development of science and knowledge among the Politeknik Negeri Banjarmasin Academic Community as well as a research center and application development for smart city-based technology through project show cases.
1. Organizing educational activities through practicum, training, research, and community service in order to increase knowledge in the field of Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality (ARVR).
2. Develop expertise and skills in the field of Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality (ARVR) for the personnel involved.
Provide computer facilities, training, and visits (comparative studies) for other units in need.
